September has been another wonderful month at Woodlands care home in Waterlooville, filled with music, laughter, entertainment and plenty of opportunities to make happy memories!

Enjoying live music and favourite singalongs
Music has been a big part of our month, with the return of some familiar favourites, including Charlotte, Just Karen, Phil Gooding and Nathalie with her fabulous brightly coloured hair!
We also welcomed a new singer, Alice, and enjoyed a visit from David Pepper. Our weekly choir sessions have continued to bring everyone together for a good singalong, creating lovely opportunities to enjoy music and spend time with friends.
Keeping our minds active with quizzes and games
We’ve kept our minds busy with general knowledge quizzes, rebus puzzles, word games, bingo and plenty of reminiscing about the 1960s.
Our music-themed activities, including ‘Guess the Year’, ‘Guess the Film from the Theme Tune’ and a special look back at 1959, have sparked lots of memories and laughter.

Bringing families together for our Wednesday pub quiz
Our Wednesday evening pub quiz continues to grow in popularity, bringing residents and their loved ones together for some friendly competition and a lovely social evening.
It’s wonderful to see so many families getting involved and enjoying these special moments together!

Good food and great company at Friday breakfast club
Friday Breakfast Club remains a firm favourite, providing another lovely opportunity for residents and families to enjoy good food and great company.
These regular get-togethers are a wonderful way to catch up, enjoy conversations and spend quality time together.
Staying active with weekly armchair exercises
Ross, our personal trainer, continues his weekly visits, keeping everyone moving with his fun and engaging armchair exercise sessions.
These sessions offer residents an enjoyable opportunity to take part in gentle movement and stay active in a welcoming group setting.
Welcoming autumn with seasonal decorations
We’ve also been getting ready for autumn, bringing a touch of seasonal colour into Woodlands with lovely new autumn-themed table decorations in our dining room.
The decorations have helped create a warm and cosy atmosphere as the seasons change, making our shared spaces feel especially welcoming.
Supporting resident voices and moments of reflection
Our residents’ meetings and monthly church service have also continued, ensuring residents have opportunities to share their views and enjoy moments of reflection.
These regular gatherings remain an important part of life at Woodlands, providing time for conversation, connection and reflection.
Looking forward to more happy moments at Woodlands
As we say goodbye to September, we would like to thank everyone who has helped make it another enjoyable month.
We look forward to more fun, laughter and special moments in October!
