Residential care home
We understand how important it is to find a good care home where you or your loved one feels comfortable, safe, and valued. Read on to discover the quality of care available at our four residential care homes in Hampshire.
What is a residential care home?
Residential care is for older people who can no longer live safely or comfortably in their own homes but don’t need full-time nursing. Residents have their own room, with all meals provided. Round-the-clock care staff are available to provide support and personal care, such as help with washing and dressing, as needed.
Beyond practical needs, residential care provides essential companionship, with opportunities to socialise and take part in organised activities.

“Since Dad has been at Woodlands, he has been happy and very well looked after. I count my blessing every day to have found such a wonderful place for him to call home. The other residents are lovely and appear very happy. The staff are just wonderful and I cannot fault the management. I thank you all for all you do for my lovely dad and for the support and care you show to me. Best wishes.”

Care plans
We ensure that every resident’s needs are recognised and respected. Before moving in, we carry out a detailed assessment with the resident and their family to understand their care needs, preferences, and daily routines.
From this, we create a personalised plan that sets out the right level of personal care and support, including input from health professionals if needed.

A welcoming, comfortable and safe environment
Safety and comfort are imperative in our homes. Residents have private bedrooms in which to relax, with easy access to communal lounges, dining rooms, and gardens. We encourage new residents to bring their own furniture, photos and keepsakes so their bedroom feels personal and familiar.
All of our facilities are designed with accessibility in mind to ensure residents feel confident moving around. Our care staff are available day and night, so families can be sure their loved ones are safe and secure at all times.

Community and social life
Community is at the heart of life at Beneva Care. We encourage everyone to take part in a wide variety of social events, day trips, and daily activities that bring joy and purpose. From gardening and music sessions to gentle exercise or simply enjoying a film with friends, there’s always something to look forward to.
Take a look at our recent newsletters to discover more about the activities we provide.

Family and community involvement
We know how important it is to share moments and make valuable memories together, so family and friends are welcome to visit at any time. Whether it’s a shared meal, celebration or participation in one of our activities or events, our door is always open. We regularly welcome local community groups, schools, and charities into our homes to ensure our residents remain connected to the wider community.

Nutritious dining
Our delicious range of meals balances nutrition and variety. Residents are encouraged to make their own food choices, and we can cater to many preferences and dietary requirements. Mealtimes are a sociable affair, and we encourage everyone to eat in the company of other residents. Snacks and drinks are always available throughout the day.

Care and support
We foster a culture of genuine respect and compassion and employ passionate professionals who share our values. The quality of our care is clear in the reviews shared by families and residents, reflecting the warmth, professionalism, and commitment of our teams. We know that settling into care can sometimes feel daunting, but our staff are calm, patient, and encouraging, always here to help residents feel supported.

Frequently asked questions about residential care homes
How do I know if my loved one needs residential care?
Residential care is for people who need support with everyday tasks such as washing, dressing, taking medication, or enjoying regular meals and activities, but don’t require nursing. It provides a safe, supportive environment with 24-hour assistance, but without the need for full nursing care. All of our homes offer high-quality residential care, helping residents to maintain independence while enjoying comfort, companionship, and peace of mind. All of our homes offer residential care.
Nursing care includes everything that residential care provides, with the added support of qualified nurses on site, 24 hours a day. This ensures that residents with more complex health needs receive professional medical support, such as administering medication, monitoring ongoing conditions, and providing specialist care. At Beneva Care, nursing care is available at Solent Cliffs and Beechwood House.
Dementia care can be provided in both residential and nursing settings, offering tailored support for people living with dementia — from early-stage memory loss to more advanced symptoms. Our teams are trained to understand the challenges of dementia and to provide compassionate, person-centred care in safe and supportive environments. All of our care homes offer dementia care.
If you are unsure which type of care is right for you or a loved one, please feel free to contact us for advice and read more about choosing care.
What is the difference between residential care and nursing care?
Yes, we do. Many families choose to move into care early so their loved one can settle in while they’re still able to make choices and form bonds with carers. Early support can also help manage dementia symptoms and reduce stress over time.
