Our Care Services
Beneva Care’s approach is centred on dignity, comfort and belonging. Every day brings opportunities for conversation, gentle activity, good food and familiar routines. It’s important to us that everyone feels part of our vibrant community, while families feel reassured that their loved one is in kind, capable hands.
We offer truly personalised care and recognise unique needs, so residents feel valued and listened to. Before a new resident moves in, we take time to understand both their practical needs and personal preferences, each person receives a Personal Care Plan.
Residential Care
Residential care is ideal for people who are finding it difficult to manage safely at home, or who would benefit from companionship and daily support.
We can offer help with everyday tasks such as washing, dressing, bathing, toileting, eating, medication support and mobility where needed. This can be a sensitive issue for some residents, but rest assured, we treat everyone with patience, dignity and deep understanding.
Practical care aside, our residents benefit from being part of a happy, supportive community, with familiar faces around them each day.
To find out more about what to expect from residential care, see our guide on choosing care.

Dementia Care
Cross Way House provides specialist care for residents with dementia. Dementia affects each person differently, so our support is calm, patient and tailored to their specific needs.
You can expect a reassuring, familiar environment where residents can feel safe. We are experienced in dealing with more complex needs and challenging behaviours with compassion, consistency and respect.
Dementia is hard on families, but you can expect our full support. The team are always here to chat, offer guidance and keep you regularly updated on your loved one’s wellbeing.

Accommodation and facilities
Cross Way House offers a comfortable balance of period features and practical, modern facilities. The home has spacious bedrooms, relaxed communal areas and gardens where residents can enjoy fresh air and welcome visitors.
Private bedrooms
Each bedroom is fully furnished and includes a television and en-suite facilities. We encourage personal touches such as photographs, ornaments and soft furnishings to make it truly feel like home. Those small details can make a big difference, especially when someone is settling into a new environment.
Communal areas, dining room and gardens
Our shared spaces and dining room are perfect for making the most of daily life. Residents can relax, chat, take part in activities or simply enjoy being in the company of others.
Food is such an important part of wellbeing, so we make mealtimes sociable and enjoyable. Meals are prepared by our on-site catering team, with cooked food served throughout the day and drinks and snacks available between mealtimes. We always do our best to recognise individual preferences and can cater to many dietary requirements.
Our gardens offer a peaceful place to sit, enjoy the seasons and spend time with visitors. They are also used for activities like barbecues when the weather allows.
Daily activities
Activities are arranged by our full-time Activities Coordinator, including games, parties, gentle exercise, themed days and one-off celebrations. We regularly welcome guest entertainers and enjoy special intergenerational moments with children from local nurseries.

Our dedicated team at Cross Way House
The team at Cross Way House is caring, experienced and committed to making residents feel safe, comfortable and respected.
Many of our staff have been with us for years, which is a testament to the inclusive and supportive family we have built. We are also very dedicated to staff development. For example, Cross Way House’s Deputy Manager, Stacey, began her career at Beneva Care as a night carer and, after more than seven years with us, progressed to her current role in 2022.
Through our overseas sponsorship programme, we also welcome talented care professionals from around the world. They bring valuable experience, knowledge and cultural richness to the home.
What Our Residents and Families Say
My mother was in Cross Way House for a relatively short time but my wife and I couldn’t fault the care that she received from all of the staff. She was treated with kindness and dignity the whole time she was there. Unfortunately due to a short illness she recently passed away and we couldn’t have been given more care and understanding at this sad time. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff at Cross Way House for making the last few months of my mums life the most comfortable and dignified that they were able.

I cannot begin to describe how happy I am with the care of Mum whilst at Cross Way House. Mum was only at Crossway a short time but she was quickly accepted as a member of the Crossway family. The management and staff were/are the most caring considerate professionals I have ever met. Mum was cared for like she was a member of the family and treated with kindness whilst maintaining her independence and dignity as much as possible. I cannot praise the staff enough. Thank you for caring for Mum and allowing me to be her son again.

Since my dad has been in Cross Way House it has taken a lot of worry from us as a family knowing that all of his needs are taken care of. He is always clean and tidy and on a balanced diet that meets all his needs. The staff are always helpful. Very happy with all of the support that Dad is given and the facilities are of a high standard.

Mum was in Cross Way for seven months and during that time she was treated with care, compassion and dignity by all the staff there. Her physical needs were very well met as was her emotional wellbeing. The manager and staff were always friendly and welcomed us with a smile when visiting. Not only was Mum well supported and cared about, but I was too. This was really a home from home for Mum, nothing seemed too much trouble. When Mum was on end-of-life care they kept me informed every step of the way and went above and beyond in their care of Mum to ensure she passed peacefully. I don’t have the words to express my gratitude for the way the whole team looked after my mum. Thank you.
