There has been plenty of excitement at our Havant care home, Cross Way House, recently, with residents enjoying a wonderful variety of activities, entertainment, and opportunities to spend time together.

Music Brings Residents Together
Music has once again been at the heart of many of our celebrations, with the ever-popular David Pepper bringing plenty of energy, smiles, and sing-along moments.
Residents thoroughly enjoyed joining in with their favourite songs, and as always, a song and a dance proved to be the perfect way to lift spirits and brighten everyone’s day. Live entertainment continues to be a favourite among residents, creating opportunities to socialise, reminisce, and have fun together.
The Cross Way Dance Team Takes Centre Stage
Our very own “Cross Way Dance Team” kept everyone thoroughly entertained with their enthusiasm, laughter, and impressive moves.
There were plenty of smiles as residents joined in with classic dances, including a lively rendition of the famous Lambeth Walk – complete with a very enthusiastic “OY!” from all involved. The activity created a wonderful atmosphere and showcased the fun-loving spirit of our residents.
Building Friendships Across Generations
One of the highlights of every week continues to be visits from the local nursery children.
These intergenerational sessions are always eagerly anticipated and bring so much joy to both residents and children alike. Whether sharing stories, playing games, or simply spending time together, these visits create special memories and meaningful connections across generations.
Making the Most of the Summer Sunshine
With the arrival of warmer weather, residents have been making the most of the summer sunshine, spending time outdoors enjoying the fresh air and beautiful surroundings.
To help everyone stay cool during the warmer days, there have been plenty of refreshing ice lollies on offer, often accompanied by a lively game of bingo that brought out everyone’s competitive side and plenty of laughter.

Friendly Competition with Skittles
Skittles continues to be a firm favourite among residents, with regular games providing plenty of fun, friendly competition, and lots of cheering from spectators.
It is always wonderful to see everyone encouraging one another and celebrating every successful throw, helping to promote confidence, social interaction, and physical activity.
Celebrating VE Day in Style
We also came together to commemorate VE Day with a fantastic celebration.
The home was filled with patriotic spirit as residents enjoyed music, refreshments, and shared memories of this important occasion. A special highlight of the day was a wonderful performance from Annie Jo, whose singing helped make the celebrations even more memorable.
Enjoying Visits from Talented Entertainers
The month has also featured many more visits from talented entertainers, who continue to bring so much enjoyment to our home.
Residents always look forward to these performances, which encourage singing, dancing, reminiscing, and plenty of laughter while creating a vibrant and engaging atmosphere throughout the home.
Creativity, Confidence and Fun
There were also some wonderful moments of creativity and fun, including one resident embracing their inner rockstar and showing off their style to the delight of everyone around them.
Whether enjoying music, games, dancing, or simply spending time with friends, there has been something for everyone to enjoy throughout the month.
Looking Forward to More Special Moments
From singing and dancing to games, sunshine, and special celebrations, it has been another fantastic period at Cross Way House, filled with friendship, laughter, and many happy memories.
We look forward to many more exciting activities and events in the weeks ahead as we continue creating meaningful experiences for our residents.
